PhD-Theis submission

The Wagening University and Research Library supports you in the dissemination of your doctoral thesis. Their thesis is archived and distributed by Wagingen-University and Research Hospital thesis. The library also ensures that your doctoral thesis is spread over a number of search engines and is available by Narcis.

If you submit your thesis, you must do the following three things:

1. Register for an ISBN and a doi

• The title pages of your work must list on the paper copy and a DOI (digital object identifier) ??on the electronic version an ISBN (International Standard Book Number). These two numbers make it easy to find and refer your thesis. You will receive instructions for inquiring the DOI and ISBN from the Doctoral Secretariat of PhD Services.
• After submitting your work to the library, the library will complete the formal registration of the ISBN and DOI. These numbers can then be used to access their thesis. Your thesis is also available under my publications on your MyLibrary page.

2. Send your thesis to the library

At least two weeks before their public defense, they must submit 1 paper copy of their doctoral thesis to the PhD Services Promotion Secretariat. In addition, you must submit a print copy and a digital copy of your work into the WUR library.

• You can deliver the paper copy to the WAS Library in Forum, Droevendaalseeg 2, 6807 PG, Wagen. You can also send your copy to the Wagen University and Research Library, Acquisition Department, PO-Box 9100, 6700 HA Wageningen.
• The digital copy must be in PDF format. The digital copy must contain your thesis, sets and the front and back of your dissertation in a PDF file. Password protection should be disabled. Please also check the publication name in the PDF properties.
• Send us together with the digital copy a summary of your doctoral thesis with a maximum length of 999 words (about 3 pages in Word). We add the summary of the description of your thesis.

You can submit the thesis (pdf) and the summary (text file) in one of the following species:

3. Assign an embargo if necessary

Most scientific magazines use plagiarism detection software to new submissions. If your doctoral thesis is publicly available through the WAS Library, they flag their thesis as potentially plagiar. Most journal publishers enable you to publish parts of your thesis as articles, even if the work is publicly available. Make sure you mention the journal in your cover letter that your manuscript is part of a publicly defended doctoral thesis.

If you expect problems with the journal plagiarism checks, the library can use an embargo time on your doctoral thesis. During the embargo period, your thesis is not visible online and will not appear in the plagiarism detection software. The embargo lasts 1 year. One month before the Embargo period expires, we will send you an e-mail or supervisor to ask if you want to extend the embargo. If you do not expand the embargo, or if you or your supervisor will not respond to the e-mail within one month, the embargo will be canceled, and your doctoral thesis will be publicly available through Wagening University and Research Phard Doctoral thesis. You can send an e-mail to [email protected] to have an embargo that has placed your thesis.

To ensure that we can achieve it during this process, please send us the following two e-mail addresses: Your private e-mail address, especially if you are no longer related in the future, and the e -Mail address of a permanent wuriday staff of staff connected to their PhD research, eg. B. your supervisor. You can send these in [email protected]

did you think of publishing your data?

You may also want to publish your discs data. This is not required by Wageningen University & Research, but it is required by some purses and magazines.
